As a stuck at home mom, I’m finding it super hard to concentrate right now and focus on many of the topics I usually write about, so I thought I’d give myself permission to write whatever I want today. After all, this is my blog! 🙂
Plus, this is the kind of writing I’ve wanted to do for awhile. I know it’s not what’s recommended in blogging, and that’s okay. This post isn’t about finding the right keywords or writing to get page views. This is from my heart, from one mama to another.
We’re living in scary times right now. Sometimes it feels unreal, all this stress and worry. Most of us have come to the point of just staying home, which for some of us, isn’t that different than our everyday lives. But for some, it’s a new normal and it’s not without difficulty.
How are you doing, mama? Are you stressed out over all the changes? Homeschooling, money, bills, and keeping your family fed and healthy?
Me too!
But it’s also been a time to slow down and focus more on the things that truly matter, don’t you think?
We have time to play games with our kids, to make home cooked meals, and to do those projects around the house we’ve been putting off.
The kids are getting more time and attention than they have in months, because we have it to give!
We’re baking, watching movies, and talking.
I think we need to take a step back and look at the blessings through the trials.
Yes, I know that’s not easy to do, especially when your trials are big. I get it.
But I do believe that good will come out of all this, in some way, shape or form.
I think it’s already happening for people, in their own homes.
Changes are being made every day. People are choosing what to focus on, the things that are most important.
Priorities are changing. Things are shifting.
Stuff we once worried about might not seem so significant anymore.
Take this time to reevaluate your life.
Whether it’s your job, your role as a parent, your hobbies…anything and everything.
Decide what takes precedence in your world from now on.
Quit worrying about the woulda coulda shoulda and focus on right now, this very moment.
Cherish this time with your loved ones. Celebrate and enjoy life!
If you are home with a healthy family, thank God! Follow the rules (just stay home!) and do everything in your power to keep it that way.
Pray for others who are not as fortunate, who are fighting harder battles than entertaining their healthy children and having to eat leftovers more often than usual.
People are fighting for their lives, let’s slow the spread and do our part.
And most of all, let’s have faith. For our own mental well being and for out kids.
I believe we will get through this, and we will rise up. I think life will be better, will be sweeter than it ever was before. Â Families will be closer, and I hope the struggle for material things will be lessened.
So from one stuck at home mom to another, I hope this post has encouraged you in some small way.
